ABSTRACT
Harold Guetzkow entered my world while I was a graduate student at Berkeley in the early 1960s. I was interested in problems of international integration and his study on Multiple Loyalties (1955) was on the reading list for a seminar. I was so taken by the work that I cited it repeatedly in the class discussion, somewhat exasperating the professor and the other students.
