ABSTRACT

Harold Guetzkow’s continuing social science career has spanned four decades and several “disciplines.” For the most part he has been interested in uncovering patterns in what has come to be known as “International Relations.” His name is synonymous with both “stimulation” and “simulation” in this area. Simulation in the sense of the gedanken experiment to probe the complexities of a set of speculations about the world; stimulation in the sense of promoting and provoking activity, exertion, and growth.
