ABSTRACT

Stalinism, Titoism and Maoism are three attempts by Leninist Party groups committed to Marxist socialism, three broad trajectories skewed by Leninist-Stalinist institutions, ideologies and interests, leading Leninist Party systems to become nationalistic and feudalized autonomous states which are not defined by their socialist dynamics. Even many friends of Marxism, revolutionary socialism and Leninist Party-states have invented concept after category to comprehend what Leninist Party-states actually are if they are not in truth socialist. The negative impact of the Leninist political system is known to and opposed by many good people among Marxist ruling groups. Third-World Leninist Party-states are left with a conundrum that holds little hope for progress toward Marxist socialism. Leninist Party-state ruling groups comprehend their statist maneuvers as part of a process of building socialism. The autonomy of the Leninist Party-state refers to the statist legitimations and tendencies which open a chasm between state and society, between the people and the proprietors of power.
