ABSTRACT

The study of relational dynamics tells us that the fundamental choice driving total system change is not between such dualities as capitalism and socialism but between a “domination” model and a “partnership” model. An economic system built on a partnership model would be characterized by democratic decision-making rather than authoritarian domination, gender equality rather than the subordination of women and caregiving, an end to the institutionalized and idealized forms of violence used to maintain hierarchies of domination, and support for empathetic and mutually respectful relationships.
