ABSTRACT

Dis/ability and gaming represents an under-explored pedagogical site. In this chapter, I critically examine Mega Man as an iconic android gaming figure. Dis/ability in gaming shapes how we learn and how we may constitute ourselves. Considering dis/ability within game studies opens new avenues to ponder spatiality, time, dis/ability, ableism, gender, militarism, mobility, our embodied existences, enhancement/augmentation, and human/non-human relations. Pondering dis/ability and gaming may offer insights into emergent techno-futurities, (re)generation, and posthuman imaginings.
