ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 provides an overview of how design started to use computer science techniques to support design exploration and fabrication. Techniques such as 3D modeling, computation and problem solving, digital fabrication, machine learning, genetic algorithms, and computer vision and its use in computational design are reviewed through the lens of data.
