ABSTRACT

This chapter investigates the blending of independent but increasingly adaptive technologies with mHealth. It demonstrates the expanding vistas of mHealth as it becomes integrated with the wider universe of health IT products and solutions. Medical education is being reshaped by mobile technologies. The advancement of simulation and the day-to-day use of mobile technology in the practice of medicine make the pragmatic curricula elements of medical education critical to effective learning. Medical education can benefit from access to medical informatics resources and tools specific to the education process. Mobile access to patient scoring allows for ranking and quality evaluation in addition to performance methods grading in an academic setting. This type of architecture has been used in both medical education and hospital settings to promote flexible cloud based access to resources and materials. The effectiveness of mobile technology in the areas of battlefield care, disaster relief and humanitarian assistance can be applied to remote and rural areas of the United States.
