ABSTRACT

The challenges of providing healthcare in India are immense. The country is home to nearly one-sixth of the world’s population; it features 22 official languages and several hundred dialects and includes a wide variety of cultural and behavioral norms and beliefs. Over a period of three years, through multiple workshops and exchanges between Christian Medical College (CMC) and Tufts, the people trained CMC's faculty and technical staff and trained the trainers to develop and deliver curricula using TUSK software. In less than four years, CMC has committed to institutionalizing its role as the learning resource and technology hub for its extensive hospital network across India, providing improved healthcare worker training to care for millions of people. Faculty and staff at secondary hospitals can create their own content using the "technology hub" based at CMC, create their own mini-sites with their own hospital identity and store case studies and other materials unique to their site.
