Empowering patients with reliable and readily-available heathcare information is a crucial step toward achieving increased patient engagement. Years ago, patients trusted their doctors explicitly, waited for appointments patiently, and took medications without question. With today’s information explosion and 24/7 mobile access, patients now demand both reliable health information and a direct connection to their providers. A hospital system known for offering top quality care identified a growing need for differentiation in their local marketplace. To increase patient engagement, the hospital system wanted to go beyond providing the highest level of care for residents, newcomers, and travelers by heightening their top-of-mind community presence with a new level of patient connectivity. Hospital executives ensured positive momentum throughout the implementation of the iTriage solution by obtaining buy-in from the entire hospital team, including executives, physicians, and staff.
