ABSTRACT

In the preceding chapters, authors have laid out the case for, and the elements of, a successful analytics program within any healthcare organization (HCO). They have offered novel insights for building and using those programs, but not every organization has the fortitude, skill, or bandwidth to take on such initiatives. We offer an approach for assessing and jump-starting an analytics strategy. This is not meant to be the definitive approach; rather, it is built upon the ideas of well-respected authors and executed via the recognized and respected HIMSS Analytics organization. Readers will need to choose their own approaches, but we suggest a definitive starting point.
