ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the methodology of research. Changes in mobility and their spatial consequences are difficult to highlight using traditional mobile methods for a variety of different reasons. Those methods are too often based on static population models, made on administrative boundaries that do not witness practices such as shuttling between two or more cities, or portray the richness of the mobility experience.
In this chapter, a qualitative methodology elaborated for this research will be introduced. It is a qualitative method of research based on the direct observation of a small group of daily mobile people using semi-structured interviews, interactive mapping and travel-along, as will be explained in the chapter. This method allows a more profound exploration of the relationship that mobile people establish with time and space, as well as an understanding of how they use and modify spaces in their everyday life.
