ABSTRACT
The widespread use of CD-ROM in academic libraries has improved access to information while creating new challenges for users and librarians. To make the best use of these systems, researchers now must intelligently evaluate the wealth of information that they can obtain independently. Accordingly, libraries must deal with the increased demands on collections, services, and staff that are a direct result of making information more accessible to more people.
