ABSTRACT

Virtually all cities across the world are starting to display spaces and zones that are powerfully connected to other ‘valued’ spaces across the urban landscape as well as across national, international and even global distances. This chapter presents an account of the walk from Mile End tube station towards its Aldgate East counterpart to address the changes to the social structure, and highlight certain displaced elements of this particular geography. It also provides information on the author's association with Graham during his walking journey and the places visited by them.
