ABSTRACT

The chapter is written primarily by Dr Lorraine Morley, Lead, AgeTech Accelerator UK.

There are innovations in technology that can be used in both community and residential settings. This chapter looks at the role of technology in ageing and later life living. It first explores the types of technology that are emerging and then gives a brief market survey of developments, applications and why some may be more popular than others. Having provided this context, it then addresses the role of new technologies in relational care and considers current developments and where they might lead in the future.
