It’s becoming almost a game. You get a map of the Lake District, preferably one showing a bit of coastline and some contours, and then you work out how Manchester can solve its water problems without ruining the place. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an engineer for nobody’s going to quibble about a few million gallons – or a few million pounds for that matter.
