ABSTRACT
LSU Libraries, in 1994, was NOT planning on a cancellation in 1995. We were not interested in deciding what MORE to cancel of our rapidly dwindling serials collection, what we were concerned about was how best to use the resources we had to meet the educational and research needs of our faculty and students. That is STILL our primary concern, even in a year when we have had to meet a 15% increase in the cost of our serials. I know, in the midst of pressures to “cancel” it is hard to keep this in perspective, because all the resources are going to meet an immediate deadline.
