ABSTRACT
Great changes are occurring in cataloguing because of the introduction of a new set of cataloguing rules and the growth of automated cataloguing systems. The interrelationship between these two events is discussed, and possible responses to change suggested. The benefits of automated systems are considered. Cataloguing in general, with an emphasis on serials cataloguing, is covered.
