ABSTRACT
The Research Libraries Group, Inc. (RLG) is a consortium of institutions whose primary goal is to provide information to the scholarly community through cooperative programs in Shared Resources, Collection Management and Development, Preservation, and the Research Libraries Information Network (RLIN). Serials information and handling are represented in several programs through the cooperative purchase file, through the message system, and through policy statements and the on-line catalog that underpins all RLG programs.
