ABSTRACT

My close friend Jenny, now in her mid 50s, recently confided in me some disturbing facts. Like many other children, she had been bullied at school. Margaret had been a good friend of hers before going to secondary school, and they started at the new school as a close unit. They messed around together, got told off by the teacher together, hung around at cafes out of school together, and did the usual things pre-pubescent girls do.
