ABSTRACT
‘The pen is mightier than the sword’ is a metonymic adage coined by English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839 for his play Richelieu, or the Conspiracy. Reality television is currently one of the most popular television formats in Malaysia. Obsolete methods need to be replaced with methods and approaches that are more suited to Malaysian society based on the equal level and position of mass and popular culture as well as indigenous culture or the diversity of culture as a measure of civilized Malaysian society. In any part of the world today, one of the prerequisites to entry into top dance institutions and to becoming a professional dancer is a solid ballet foundation. Increasingly, a lot of contemporary Indian and Chinese dancers in Malaysia also rely on ballet as a supplement to their core art.
