An understanding of the South China Sea Arbitration is pivotal to an understanding of the current situation in the South China Sea. The Arbitration comprises two Awards, which together come to 630 pages and 1616 paragraphs, so it is a significant, but necessary, task to set out reasonably succinctly the result of the Arbitration and therefore its implications.
