ABSTRACT
This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book aims to help reposition global research and debates on cyber security workforces of the future. It offers a framework for analysing cyber security education that also has an enduring value, regardless of its provenance in 2017. The book then addresses the challenge of finding the suitable middle ground between the view that cyber security is the preserve of technically educated professionals and the view that everyone must understand cyber security. It also focuses on the challenge of constructing multidisciplinary teams. The book addresses the requirement for education that might equip graduates and practitioners for cyber disaster scenarios. It then introduces the escalating sense of international security crisis around cyberspace and offers a view on the attributes of leaders, both military and civilian, working in national security.
