ABSTRACT

Artificial intelligence is a general term that encompasses all means in which a computer uses modern methods to not just execute a specific action that a programmer has decided, but to teach itself how to conduct a task. Thus, the computer learns sometimes in the way a human might. In 2020, digital imaging sensors have matured and become advanced enough to capture images that far exceed that of film-based photography in the past. Not only has the quality of imaging increased, but also has the rate and ease at which imaging may be done such that it becomes feasible to acquire gigabytes of imagery within a single examination case. Deep learning is a class of machine learning that deals with the ability of a computer to learn, that is, to teach itself a new previously unknown task, as opposed to the methods which are designed and task-specific.
