ABSTRACT
This is a brief memoir of a hard of hearing child’s journey of understanding the meaning of disability through vignettes of her educational experiences from middle school to graduate school, culminating in a choice to advocate for the best interpreter fit for her educational needs. The narrative includes allusions to the following concepts: audism, ableism, and testimonial epistemic injustice.
