ABSTRACT
Many children leave behind them a trail of pictures over the years. The preservation of some of those pictures makes possible a sort of archaeology of childhood whence experimental psychologists can generate testable hypotheses (Freeman, 1980). Those same children will also have left a stream of opinions about pictures. Those opinions are ephemera. So they are difficult and frustrating to study. Therefore, let us study them.
