ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors focus on a rather neglected formulation of the question, concerning action processing. In the first part of the chapter, they present and review possible answers to such a formulation of the question, only recently discussed in the literature. In the second part, they offer brand new insights on this analysis, starting from new assumptions on the way vision-for-action works. Vision allows us to recognize objects in the external environment. But a big function of such recognition is that of guiding our action within the very same environment. The reader should note that the questions on Molyneux’s question (MQ) and automatic action at first sight taken up previously in the literature and the one under consideration here about awareness and superimposition at first sight are related.
