ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at the business models of the organisation as one of the key building blocks to support the delivery of an effective digital strategy and ways of prioritising the necessary actions for success. The importance of digital transformation as a necessary aspect in all of an organisation’s operations drives a need for usable and systematic approaches to understanding and defining the ‘as is’ situation and projecting forward to the ‘will be’ response. The hybrid canvas encourages the business model to take advantage of the internal skills and values of its team as a separate section from the more expansive category of key resources. The skills of the team link the use of key resources with key activities to support the delivery of the overall business model. The canvases for each business model create the visual building blocks for an organisation’s transformation strategy.
