ABSTRACT

In this chapter we discuss how an open innovation approach can contribute to the design of innovation policies, namely related to knowledge management policy. To gain insight we deployed a method that has been used in canvasing many other emerging topics, including innovation studies: the Delphi method. After the introduction, we describe the Delphi method and the methodology used in this research. The results of the application of the Delphi method are presented in the next section, where we identify public policy priorities in an open innovation perspective. Then, we propose measures of public policy through which these priorities could be achieved. The final section presents the main findings, concluding that the approach of open innovation may be considered for prioritization of innovation policies in the knowledge management field.
