ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of employees’ self-efficacy and social capital on their turnover intention in the Tourism and Hospitality (T & H) industry in New Zealand. This is a quantitative study based on surveys. Findings of this study reveal that increasing self-efficacy and social capital can reduce employees’ turnover intention. Job involvement positively mediates the relationship between turnover intention and social capital and self-efficacy. The findings of this research can help T & H managers and related organizations address the issue of high employee turnover which is one of the main challenges for businesses in this industry.
