ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses a 2016 photo exhibit featuring oil portraits of defendants before various international criminal courts and tribunals. The author describes the experience of viewing this exhibit and attending the subsequent wine and cheese reception with a group of international criminal justice practitioners: lawyers, NGO representatives, academics and diplomats. From this point of departure, the chapter goes on to explore the broader aesthetic, affective and discursive practices in the field of international criminal justice.
