ABSTRACT

Reflecting on Practice is a professional learning program for informal educators. The underlying premise of the program is to change the informal science education field by empowering the educational professionals, one community at a time. From the experiences of these educators and institutions, we know the program is relevant and impacts practice, and the institution-based design is adoptable, reusable, versatile, and transferable. We also learn that time and resources, educators’ mindset toward change, champions for professional learning, and institutional culture can be challenges that can stall progress.
