ABSTRACT

This chapter synthesizes the findings of the 13 studies presented in the book and discusses how Asian women leadership contributes to the knowledge of Asian women leaders as immigrant leaders, minority leaders, and disadvantaged leaders and how the Asian culture influences their leadership styles. Creating diverse gender role expectations and the policy implications of creating a level playing field between men and women in obtaining leadership positions in Asian and other regions in the world are proposed as future research directions. We need to ensure the policies supposedly favoring women will not disadvantage women and support dual careers. We should prepare a new generation of competent and independent women leaders with resources and networks.
