ABSTRACT
Halamish claims that Jewish immigration into Palestine determined the political fate of Palestine. It drastically changed the demographic composition of the country, and had a decisive effect on Arab-British-Jewish relations. This chapter examines the multiple political aspects of Jewish immigration, from the Balfour declaration (1917) to the United Nations’ decision to partition Palestine (November 1947).
