Introduction

In this chapter, we discuss the major themes of the book and introduce the five authors. We begin by discussing the importance of context – theory’s location and relations – before orienting the reader to the specific background and general interests of each author. We argue that the differences between us form the critical basis for the debates that constitute much of this book. We then introduce our four main themes (relationality, ontology, posthumanism, and Indigenous paradigms), outline the structure of the book, and explain our approach to writing in dialogue.
