ABSTRACT

This chapter examines Bahá’í ideas about spirituality; how Bahá’í spiritual practices such as prayer, meditation, fasting, and daily scripture reading are conducted; and how these practices contribute to the journey from self to God. It includes short sections on the importance of prayer in daily life, the significance of the body postures and gestures of the daily obligatory prayers, different ways of understanding the discipline of the fast, and the meaning of other worship practices such as reciting the Greatest Name.
