ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a synthesis overview of the different book sections and draws out key findings in terms of strategies and actions to better mobilize food biodiversity for more sustainable and healthy food systems. It highlights the innovations and key factors to engender a biodiversity-based food system transformation; and concludes by flagging where key opportunities exist within global platforms and conventions to improve the mainstreaming of food biodiversity and to promote good practices, collect data, develop metrics and indicators, promote sharing of knowledge and cross-fertilization of ideas as well as ensuring that the momentum generated by the Biodiversity for Food and Nutrition (BFN) Project, and similar projects and initiatives, is maintained.
