ABSTRACT

This chapter emphasises the importance of communication to the survival of every organisation. It is asserted that a presentation is a medium through which messages are communicated through and by the organisation.

Presentations are classified according to the intended purpose. A typical presentation undergoes three phases namely, pre-presentation phase, the in-presentation and post-presentation phases. This chapter outlines the steps individuals can adopt to prepare for these phases, such as developing the right objectives, conducting an in-depth audience analysis, watching body language and considering the audience’s cultural context.
