ABSTRACT

This chapter is designed to support teachers who would like to work on their own projects with children as researchers. It includes some more detail on presentation from the University Day, for use in training teachers and young researchers. Semi-structured interviews include more open questions, to allow participants to expand on their responses and opinions. Collating and organising data is an important aspect of the research project. Any researcher knows that it is all too easy to become overwhelmed with recordings and pieces of paper during the data collection stage of a project. Young researchers can also look for similarities and differences within and between different categories of participants. Reflecting on the research project is useful for the group and for each individual researcher. Children can think about what worked well in their project and what they might do differently in a future research study.
