ABSTRACT
The way Bible stories are taught very often vaccinates young people against it instead of liberating them from false religious categories. Teachers should encourage their pupils to communicate biblical texts. The Bible consists of two collections of books. The first is the cultural heritage of the people of Israel, the second contains the witness of the first Christian leaders to the life and work of Christ. A study of ‘how the Bible was produced and published through the ages’ not only illustrates the history of communication and printing, but demonstrates how the attitudes of people towards the reading of the Bible have changed. Children and pupils love to illustrate Bible stories and communicate themselves freely through using colours and paint. Bible cartoon strips are very useful in developing self-expression through Bible communication for they need little equipment and can be reproduced in print or sound slide series.
