ABSTRACT

Kaarle Nordenstreng's profile as a researcher in the field of international communication is determined not only by his theoretical reflections but also by his practical actions. Unique in his career is the fact that he combines theory and practice in international communication policy. The result has not always been to his satisfaction, as he has seen his idealistic dreams of a new, more just, and more equal world information and communication order and the practical realities of the international communication flow move in different directions and his own career embodied with many contradictions.
