ABSTRACT

The story of a fourteen-month-old baby scooting around on roller skates and swimming with his face underwater caught the eye of the newspaper world. The story literally went around the earth as evidenced by clippings which have come in from China, India, Russia, Chile and other remote places. The baby was one of a pair of twins who through nearly a decade have retained their reputation as "the experimental twins." The twin experiment was begun with the thought that by exposing a baby from the very first to a definite amount of muscular exercise it would be possible to determine the time in the life of the individual when improvement of performance could be brought about through practice or exercise. In some instances the loss in skill could be attributed partially to the changes brought about by the child's growth in physical dimensions.
