ABSTRACT

I was scared Mama would look at me and know I was changed that first time Jesse came home with me. All my years of living with Mama I knew she’d see deeper than skin could cover. I was scared she would cut her eyes at Jesse and know she was a lesbian, take one swift look at me and know I was deep in love with her. After her knowing I could only pray she didn’t have a stroke. But Mama hugged Jesse close like she was blood too.
