ABSTRACT
Various countries in Asia in order to overcome temporary difficulties and promote economic development have been engaged in successful economic policy adjustments or structural reform. The development of Asia, or broadly speaking, the development of the Asian-Pacific region, is infused with dynamism and vitality. As an Asian country, China closely watches the trend of development in the Asian region. Guided by its independent foreign policy of peace, China is working enthusiastically for the maintenance of peace and stability in this region as well as in the whole world. China has consistently maintained that the key to the solution of the Kampuchean question lies in Vietnam’s cessation of its aggression and speedy withdrawal of all its troops from Kampuchea. The important decision made by the Chinese government to reduce China’s armed forces by a million men is being implemented smoothly.
