ABSTRACT

Microcomputers play a very useful role in the management of water resource systems. Microcomputers can play a very significant role in the development of water resources, which is crucial to the economic development of many developing countries. Water resources engineering deals with the use of naturally occurring water for the maximum overall benefit to mankind. Water resources engineering includes data collection, data analysis, design, construction, operation, and management. Groundwater recharge is the quantity of precipitation that reaches the groundwater table as a result of percolation through the layers that underlie a catchment area. The mechanics of water balance within the soil's moisture zone are complicated by the uncertain role played by the plant roots in evapotranspiration. In general, a groundwater model can either represent the regional flow in an aquifer within specified boundaries or the flow toward a single well from the surrounding area.
