ABSTRACT

The microcomputer revolution which is transforming the professional workplace on a global scale grew out of efforts by hobbyists and amateurs to utilize the microprocessors developed during the early 1970s. Policy analysts can greatly benefit from microcomputer technology. The modem microcomputer can place powerful analytical capacities within the hands of analysts and technicians in both developing and developed countries. Like other technological innovations, it has its costs as well as benefits. Some of these costs are for training needs of the user population which has enlarged to include novices and the nontechnical users.
