The purpose of a directory is to provide accurate identification and addresses of people, organizations, places, and so forth. This chapter provides the directories listed in information on the addresses, personnel, and services of various institutions and prominent individuals in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, including anthropology. For additional directories of organizations and associations, consult the library catalog under the subject Associations, Institutions, Etc or the subdivision Directories. Profiles 393 sponsors, organizations, foundations, government agencies, institutes, cultural institutions, professional associations, and foreign sources; arranged alphabetically by sponsor. Entries include title, address, telephone number, president, founding date, number of members, organizational objectives, publications, conventions, etc. Detailed information on non-profit, non-governmental granting foundations arranged geographically, with indexes by field of interest, personal names, and corporate titles. Each profile includes a description of the program; eligibility, fiscal and application information; deadlines; and terms used for the program in the subject index.
