ABSTRACT

From the very beginning, Russian communists have had great respect for Germany and, in particular, the German Social Democracy. Marx and Engels, Lassalle and Bebel were viewed as the great theorists of the expected Socialist Revolution and the ensuing brilliant. The German Social-democratic party appeared to be the prototype for the whole world's socialist movement. The analyses carried out by the Institute for World Economy and International Relations in Moscow and the Institute for Politics and Economy in East Berlin reflect this view of the Federal Republic as an integral figure in the politics and economics of the West. It is particularly emphasized that the Federal Republic of Germany is the leader in relation to other European countries in external trade relations. One theorem of historical materialism states that the social development from capitalism to socialism is predetermined. Such an expectation would be expressed in only vague or general terms.
