ABSTRACT
The Asia-Pacific area of the world economy has attracted economic attention because of its high and impressive economic performance. Also, the apparent grouping of the countries of Europe and of North America into well-defined trading areas, with institutional structure, has prompted the Asia-Pacific countries to think about the prospects of their own integrated groupings. I want to consider the geographical makeup of these countries and to look at their present economic prospects.
