ABSTRACT

The reader of the foregoing articles will have noted numerous disagreements among authors regarding such fundamental issues as an energy theory of value, the viability of a solar energy techology, the propriety of discounting, whether the domain of market prices should be restricted or extended, and other unresolved issues as well. The range of disagreements at the conference itself was even greater than it appears in this volume, because of the participation of members of the audience, and because of the paper presented by Barry Commoner. Commoner’s paper is not included in this collection because he did not submit it for publication. Rather than try to summarize Commoner’s position, which has already been widely published elsewhere, we will simply refer the reader to his other work.
