ABSTRACT

1 This chapter provides the non-behavioral scientist with an introduction to the strengths and limitations of attitudinal research, including a discussion of what is known about the interrelationships between attitudes and behavior, and a discussion of what surveys can and cannot tell us. The relevance of survey results to policy making, especially in the field of energy, is discussed.
